PRESENTATION FORMATS

There are several types of presentation possibilities, including:

– Research  Oral Presentation of 25 minutes (including questions);

– Professional Practice Oral Presentation of 25 minutes (including questions);

– Student Paper  Oral Presentation of 25 minutes (including questions);

– Conference Panels in Mandarin Chinese, Spanish or Russian languages of 75 minutes;

– Workshop/Symposium in English of 60 minutes;

– Poster Presentation of two styles: Regular Poster and e-Poster.

 

 Oral presentation

 

Research, Professional Practice or Student Paper Oral Presentations format is PowerPoint (4:3). Text should be large so as to be visible from the back of the room when projected. Oral presentations must be in English. The time allocated for an oral presentation in English is 25 minutes including discussion.

“Conference Panel”. A 75-minute “Conference Panel” will be the following: a Conference Panel Organizer will put together no more than three 20 minute presentations to be delivered in the specified language of Chinese, Spanish or Russian with a 15 minute question and discussion period. The abstract proposal for a Symposium Panel must include a description of the symposium and the titles, authors, and abstracts of all three panel presenters.

All speakers are requested to upload their presentations in advance at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled presentation. Presenters are expected to introduce themselves to the session chair at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the session

Workshop/Symposium.  A 60-minute Workshop/Symposium in English will be the following: a Conference Panel Organizer will put together no more than three 15 minute presentations to be delivered in English with a 15 minute question and discussion period.

 

Poster and e-Poster Presentation

Posters should be brought to the poster presentation area ready to be mounted to the poster presentation surface. An appropriate mounting material will be provided.Authors are expected to be present at the assigned one-hour presentation time as detailed in the Conference Schedule.

Size is A0 (height: 120 cm, width 90 cm). Poster format is portrait. All posters shall be put up in the morning of the presentation at the poster boards established and all posters have to be removed in the evening.

NOTE: Pin up your poster at designated spot (poster board) at 9:00 h in the morning on the day of your presentation. Remove your poster no later than 18:00 h in the evening of the day of your presentation. Posters that have not been removed by 18:00 h will be removed by the Conference Organisers.

e-Poster presentations should be prepared in Power Point format (one single slide only) in landscape (horizontal) (see the  e-Poster Sample). The image files need to be inserted into the poster by using the PowerPoint “Insert” function. No animated effects, animations or videos. e-Poster presentations must be in English only.

The time allocated for an e-poster presentation is 5 minutes, including questions and answers.

To ensure the smooth running of the e-poster session, the Conference organizers request the presenters to upload their e-poster presentations in advance at least 24 hours before to the beginning of the e-poster session.  Presenters are expected to introduce themselves to the session chair at least 10 minutes before the beginning of the poster session.

 

Upon acceptance, a minimum of one author shall register and fully attend the WASM conference and deliver the presentation according to the scheduled day and time. The WASM organization and the conference organizer may have other requirements that must be met by an author. Should an author not comply with the requirements, the program chair or conference organizer reserves the right to remove the abstract and/or presentation from the conference schedule and/or conference book of abstracts.
